February Devlog - refactoring


February was the month of polish and refactoring!

In no particular order, we got the following done:

  • Polished up the UI in the menus so it looks more cohesive
  • Cleaned up a bunch of code so that things properly reset when starting new runs
  • Got enemies spawning at the edge of the screen
  • Added the soap weapon that acts like a grenade that explodes and leaves a dampening puddle to slow down enemies
  • Added the straw weapon which jabs enemies and steals their health(health steal not yet implemented but easy enough for March!)
  • Added new characters; Janitor, Robot, Valkyrie, Hunter, and a special secret smol block viewer.

I think the biggest thing we got done was:

  • Added the ability to level up AND upgrade our weapons

Not a lot of visual change happened this month but hopefully that just means March will be the month where we spice things up.
